This first one is about as simple as you can get. I store my hankies clean and unstarched; and I use them just this way for my bouquets.
Pinch the center of the hanky and pull it through a circle made with the thumb and first finger of your other hand. Manipulate it until you get it to look about the way you want it and stuff it in the vase. You can use the end of a straight pen to help position the hanky.
On this one I ruffled all the hankies individually except the outer red and white one with the crocheted edge. I positioned all the others inside this last hanky and then stuffed it into the vase. Again, I used the end of a pen to make my final touches.
This bouquet would make a nice addition to a room with a nautical or patriotic theme.
For this display I first laid the green hanky flat, then placed the blue one flat on top of it with corners opposite the green hanky…and so on (back and forth) for each subsequent hanky. Then I picked them all up together from the center, ruffled as in the first example, placed them in the vase and adjusted as before.
Following is a treasury made up of vintage vases and hankies – all from Vestiesteam members’ shops. Clicking on any one of the pictures in the treasury will take you to that item.

These are great! I love this idea. I made a Hankie Bouquet for the last show I did. No vase but still looked great. Here is a link to a picture of it from my Pinterest board. http://pinterest.com/pin/252201647853080211/
