Meet our new members September 2016 3

We ushered in some new members in September as summer turned to autumn. Along with some changes in the weather come three new additions to our team. Let’s meet them.

isla_280x280-22537795_oixlvwq8Our first new member is Kristy of Brown and Co Reclaimed and Handcrafted. The shop run by Kristy and Sean features both vintage and handcrafted items.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

We actually came across the team through a Facebook post and followed it back to Etsy.

What made you want to join?

After following for some time on Facebook, it was clear the Vesties Team was a great group of people seeking to help and educate the group.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

We hope to be able to meet some great people who share our love of vintage items and learn from all the expertise that exists among the team members. Having checked out a few shops already, there is definitely some talented and knowledgeable folks on the team.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

My husband, Sean, and I are located about an hour outside of Philadelphia, PA and love visiting the many flea markets and shops that abound in the area to uncover treasures of the past. We also enjoy taking someone’s “trash” and reclaiming it as an upcycled and functional piece. As a stay at home mom and professional writer, Etsy has afforded me the opportunity to do something I love while taking care of the ones I love!

Next up isisla_280x280-20310219_b06i7tt4 Mrs. A from the shop Two Artisans. This lovely shop is run by Mrs. A, along with her daughter Mrs. B ,and granddaughters known as the Little B’s.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

Gail of BlueMoonAttic has been instrumental in mentoring me. She told me about the Vesties Team.

What made you want to join?

I was looking for an informative, educational and supportive team. After following Vestie Team threads for a few days and reading some team member blogs, I knew this would be a good team to join.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

I have already been participating in the blog threads. I like to stay positive and see myself as an encourager.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I’m a wife, mother and grandmother. I live in a small town in Oklahoma with my adorable Hubby. I like re-purposing just about anything, sewing, crocheting, photography, fun jewelry and vintage treasures. I grew up hearing stories about living during The Great Depression and listening to the music of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. My dad collected many vintage and antique items through the years. Some of them were pieces woven into our family history, and I enjoyed hearing the family stories behind them. His stories were both enlightening and entertaining. They helped cultivate my appreciation for the history behind each vintage piece in TwoArtisans.

isla_280x280-15886336_f5oyk9j0Our final new member this month is Lisa from the shop Family Jewels Atlanta. Lisa has been selling jewelry since 1985 and has been online since the late 1990’s. She not only sells beautiful vintage pieces but teaches yoga as well.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

I was looking for teams which matched my interests.

What made you want to join?

It looked like a lovely group of people who shared great information and helped one another.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

I’ve been in business 30 years and hope to be able to reach out with questions as well as offer suggestions or advice when asked.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I’m a native of ATL, Ga, a single mom to a grown son, a yoga teacher and nutritionist, and a cat lover. I enjoy my alone time as well as time with friends and family, and I hope to downsize in the next few years and live near my son and his finance (well, probably wife by then).

I hope you enjoyed meeting our newest members. Please stop by their shops and say hello, and welcome them when you see them on “the threads”.

About Pam - VintageRenude

Some of my earliest memories are of digging through my Grandma's buttons, hankies, and jewelry. She taught me to see the beauty in everyday items made to last.
