This week’s Shop of the Week is JanesVintage, owned by Wanda.
What is the meaning behind your shop name?
Nothing fancy, used my middle name of Jane.
How did you get your start selling vintage?
My husband is a saver and still is. He had kept everything from his Vietnam days – lots of Army stuff. My mom was downsizing at same time so we started selling on Ebay in 2004 as a hobby. We then found it was fun to search for “treasures” and try to sell them. I opened JanesVintage on ETSY in 2010 mainly for vintage clothing and jewelry, and a couple of years later opened a second ETSY shop JanesVintageToo for antiques, collectibles, ephemera, fabrics etc. Selling vintage is my full-time hobby and I’m still having fun with it – but can take time off when needed especially for family and grandchildren.
What is your favorite item in your shop right now, and what makes it special to you?
This Art Nouveau belt buckle is my favorite item at this moment. I collect Art Nouveau & Art Deco jewelry with its beautiful details, so it’s sometime difficult to even list these items but always glad when an item goes to someone else to appreciate.
What is the most unusual or amazing item you have sold from your shop?
I could have picked out many items I found amazing – but to find clothing over 100 years old with such quality still in one piece is always a treasure to me.
SOLD!
Do you sell your items at other venues outside of Etsy?
If so, where can we find you? I sell on Ebay also under name rewscountry. Some items I list on both venues, but normally with a higher price on Ebay and always hoping it sells here. I find Etsy customers are much nicer.
Nice to learn more about you and your shop, Wanda. Wishing you continued success!
Love, love your shop, Wanda!!
You have a wonderful shop, Wanda, and I love the picks for this post. My husband was a picker and stasher, too, and served in Vietnam, as well. A kindred sister! 🙂
So nice learning more about you, Wanda! The Jensen pansy brooch in your shop is awesome! Best wishes!
