The Vintage Etsy Society team is made of the best vintage shops on Etsy. While vintage is our passion, we also appreciate the handmade shops on Etsy. Here are some of our favorite handmade purchases, and the shops we’ve purchased from. Make sure to give them a visit!
I adore handmade items!
There are so many wonderful shops featuring handmade items on Etsy – but there is one that is special to me. This gal is located in North Carolina and her shop has made it possible for her to stay home with their lovely little girl.
I have purchased a few things from this shop and I love them all! The first was a custom decal for my car and most recently a custom necklace for my husband’s 60th birthday. She is a joy to work with! Meet Jenny – TheThriftyGifter

The only thing better than buying something handmade is receiving something handmade.
My girl-child gave me a hedgehog planter from Cindy Searles and it makes me happy every time I see it.
The only problem with this hedgehog is it makes me want more of Cindy’s fun hand thrown ceramics.

I love and appreciate the beautiful handcrafted soaps that so many makers create.
I recently discovered the shop CraftsmanSoapCo. I purchased several sets of beer soap for craft beer themed gifts. All the men who received the soaps thought they were great. I really like the scent of these soaps!
For my women friends, and myself, I have purchased bars of soap from one of my favorite soap shops on Etsy – Blushie – to give as gifts throughout the years. Sadly, this shop is currently closed on Etsy (hopefully only temporarily), as I sure love her beautiful soap bars – the nicest looking soap I’ve seen. If Blushie reopens, I highly recommend her soaps.

I purchased this wonderful handmade metal cuff bracelet from andiestevensdesigns as a gift for my sister back in 2012 before I opened my own shop.
Dealing with Andrea was such a pleasure that I placed an order for eight custom designed bracelets for my daughter-in-law and nieces a couple of months later.
Her work is wonderful and she is delightful to deal with. In my humble opinion, her shop personifies the best of “Etsy Handmade”.

I have bought several of these wood hair sticks from the same shop, ayujewelry, and have given them as gifts too.
This one happens to be my favorite. I use it at least 3 days a week. I absolutely love it. Just twist my hair up and put a stick in it! Easy peasy!

So timely for Easter and spring decor – I purchased 2 dozen of these natural handblown eggs from a seller, RusTiqueAgeHome, in Iowa.
They are in varied sizes and beautiful natural tones of beige, tan and pale aqua and green. I have used them for several commercial food photo shoots.

I have purchased many wonderful handmade items on Etsy over the years.
This adorable brown bear soft toy is a recent purchase from WoodlandTale, is one of my favorites. It will be a gift (along with a vintage copy of The Three Bears – also purchased on Etsy) for my nephew’s first baby, who will be making his arrival very soon. It is such a charming little bear, and the handwork is amazing…so many tiny stitches!

My favorite Handmade Item I’ve purchased on Etsy was from my sweet daughter in law, Jenny @ TheThriftyGifter. I have many of her pieces, but by far my very favorite is a hand stamped vertical bar style necklace that literally goes with everything. Mine simply says “Wish” with a dandelion. I wear it 24/7. The only time I remove it, is when I need something a little more dressier.
Jenny @ The Thrifty Gifter is very talented and does custom work. My necklace was a custom order in this style.

My son with autism loves to be under something heavy; it gives him much-needed sensory input. We bought him a weighted blanket from PennyLayneFashions.
Not only was it more affordable than a commercially produced weighted blanket, but it is very well-made. He received it for Christmas a few years ago; not only was he delighted to receive it, but rather than being a toy that is used for a few hours, then forgotten or broken, this blanket sees daily use and is still holding up well.

I happen to love owls and admire needle felting so I knew when I saw this I had to have him!
The shop is named woolbuddy and they have a variety of animals that you can purchase or even buy a kit if you’d like to try to hand make it yourself!

My favorite handmade purchase is a Paint-by Number Art Block from the shop StudioLiscious. I have a small collection of vintage art featuring trees and forests and this piece fits in beautifully.
The owners, Patrick and Mara, transfer prints made from Paint-by-Number art onto birchwood plywood. They have so many great pieces, it was difficult to choose just one!

So many wonderful talented Etsy shops featured. Now, I have some more wonderful shops to explore.
Wow, off to check out all these shops. It just goes to show the power of a referal–I would probably never have found any of these shops if I hadn’t seen them here.
This is fabulous! How sweet! Thank you so much @AtticandBarnTwo and @CreekLifeTreasures! ♥♥
