So Cal Vesties Meetup #2 7

The day finally arrived, Sunday brunch at the Smoke House! What a great place to have a So Cal meetup, rich with old Hollywood history, deep red leather banquettes, dark wood walls, Champagne, crisp white linen tablecloths and a fabulous assortment of goodies. This was the second So Cal Vesties meet up. Two wonderful Vesties had attended the previous meet up, but the rest of us were new.

This wonderful meeting was attended by Allie from Allie Et Cie, Delia from Amelia Bedelia Vintage, Jill from Bailiwick Vintage, Melinda from Vintage Friends, Michelle from ShopMichL, and Pam from Vintage Renude.

As the six of us began to get to know each other, the conversation started to flow. Everyone agreed that meeting in person added a new dimension to being part of the team.

Some of the comments made include:

“It takes a special person to understand why we love very old things SO much!”

“It’s really nice to gather together and discuss in person these things we all have in common-our shops and the questions that go along with them.”

“How great it is to listen to others and learn from what they share.”

“To look people in the eyeballs and laugh and sympathize.”

“It was so wonderful to meet some kindred spirits, as I pretty much have been working in an Etsy bubble of frenzied isolation for way too long.”

For me it was all about making connections, putting faces with names and shops. Everyone has such great style, and creative ideas.

Everyone came away with new information, new friends, and anticipating our next get together. Our plan is to make this a regular affair and include more So Cal Vesties. We even discussed planning a vintage event where we would each set up booths and include entertainment. This group has such great energy.

Thank you to everyone for making this a fabulous day, and please join us next time if you are in the So Cal area.

It WAS super fun, wasn't it? I highly recommend all nearby Vesties try to make it next time. Thanks for such an excellent, fun post! Don't we just look cute as vintage buttons?

Not that I'm calling any of you girls 'vintage.'

I just LOVE this and THIS is what this team was founded on. I had initially applied for this team to be local with the focus of getting to know local vintage sellers and to plan a yearly flea market.
much like the renegade craft fairs…but Vintage style!
Etsy decided otherwise and hit the “international” team button! I am glad they did! WE have such a diverse and active team now and friends all over the world… I hope more groups will gather with their local Vesties teamies and share their experiences with us!
thank you for sharing your time together with the team!
