Vintage medical infused room from Country Living |
I will confess to occasionally being blinded by science. Like when I’m thrifting and I find a collection of five doctor’s office glass canisters with their stainless steel lids. Getting them to the register, getting them home and carefully setting them in their new home in my dining room–it was all a blur.
What is it we love so much about vintage medical and laboratory equipment? Is it the clean, timeless, sleek lines and materials? Is it the blissful juxtaposition of that which we expect to see on stainless steel tables carefully displayed on the vintage library table or bookshelf in our own home instead? Or is it the nod and a wink of the unexpected–the enamel kidney dish filled with bangles on the vanity, the beaker full of pencils on the desk, the medical illustration hung over the fireplace, the cobalt blue Milk of Magnesia bottle on the windowsill, or, dare we say, the glass urinal full of flowers on the sideboard.
The Vesties team shops have your vintage medical decor.

Really cool! Thank you!
I absolutely LOVE vintage medical and science items! Everything in your post is truly wonderful and perfect for a collection! I recently found an antique cast iron embalming table. Imagine the horror and surprise on my husbands face when I told him I wanted it for the Perfect Potting Bench! Very cool collection! Thank you!
Love this post and thanks it reminds me I have some college medical charts I need to relist!!
I love medical, laboratory & science stuff, too! Am working on using some of them in a cabinet of curiosities along with specimens of all sorts: skulls, fossils, artifacts, birds' eggs, insects, etc. Thank you so much for including me in your fabulous collection!
