Can you tell us a little bit about you and your shop:
My name is Marina, I am originally from Mexico City and now live in
Southern California with my husband and 9 year old son.
I studied Product Design and International Trade but have been a SAHM
since my son was born.
I am the kind of person that finds it hard to keep her hands idle so in
2009 I decided to open a handmade store on Etsy ( www.BareSockCrafts.etsy.com).
That same year my Father in law died , my Mother in law had to move to a
smaller place and we ended up with lots of wonderful family treasures that we
could not possible display or use. My husband and I decided that Etsy would be
the perfect way to find new homes for all those ‘treasures’ and that is how
Klassic was born.
Today Klassic has expanded and we now offer items not only from our
direct families but also from close friends.
It is amazing to discover the history behind the item, to imagine the
lives of those who had them before us and to give them new life and new homes.
What is your favourite era and why?
I like different periods for different reasons, I like Mid Century Modern, I like Art Deco and specially French Art Deco.
I also like Classic and Contemporary.
