Shop of the Week – Charmaine’s Whimzy 2

Meet the owner, Charmaine, and take a peek at her lovely shop of vintage inspired jewelry and repurposed art and decor. 

Tell is a little about you and your shop. 

My name is Charmaine and I live in a small Victorian Cottage in Genoa, the oldest town in Nevada…History and Antiques abound in this little community, which certainly stimulates the avid Lover of Vintage Objets d’ Art.  
Growing up in a large Italian family of 8 and making ends meet was a challenge, so my mother would go to Goodwill and garage sales in search of needed items. As the years passed, garage sales on Saturdays became a weekly event and now I’m carrying on the tradition, along with my brothers and sisters, to always be on the lookout for that one special broken and used piece to create and invent with.

My constantly changing Shoppe contains an assortment of vintage items, painted furniture, handmade repurposed jewelry, metal worked crowns, all with a whisper of Cottage French influence and a Vintage flair.

What is your favorite era and why?

My favorite era would probably be the Victorian Renaissance Era. I love elaborate scroll work used in metal, jewelry and wood carvings.


What is your favorite item in your shop at the moment? 

My favorite item is hard to pick because when you create things a part of you remains in that piece and you Love it all, but Today I’d have to say my Victorian Designed Necklace or one of my Crowns.
