This week’s featured shop is Vintage Relief , owned by Heather.

Tell us a little bit about you and your shop.

A bit about me and VintageRelief.   I am 30 years old, living in Upstate NY with my husband and two puppy children (bulldog and pug). I currently work full time and I am attending grad school part time to get my Masters of Library Science. I have always had a love of vintage things and finding them in unexpected places. I have been scouring flea markets and garage sales as far back as I can remember. So, it only seemed natural to turn this into a small side business, thus VintageRelief was born.

I have been running VintageRelief for 3 years and have had so much fun with it. I’d say one of my proudest moments was when the set designer of the FX TV Show ‘The Americans’ contacted me to purchase an item to be used on set!

The store is filled with items I love. I only buy pieces I would want to own myself. It is really a lot of fun being able to provide people a place to find items they love and can give a special place in their home.

What is your favorite era and why?

My favorite era would have to be the 1950’s. I love the fashion and decor in the 50’s. It’s always an era I’ve like to watch movies from and that are set in.

What is your favorite item in your shop at the moment?

I’d have to say my favorite item in my shop right now is this Italian leather covered bottle. I really like the look of it and the craftsmanship of it. It’s such a great gift for someone with a bar or a man cave. It doesn’t fit my decor in my home or it would be staying with me!
