Shop of the Week- Vintage Varietee 4

This week’s Shop of the Week is Vintage Varietee owned by Cindy.

Please tell us a little about you and your shop

I have been interested in making collections since I was young, whether it be rocks or bird feathers, it was all good. As I grew older and had my own place to live I found that I always sought out thrift shops for furniture and household needs. Recycling is a big part of my life so it seemed a natural transition to begin selling those items I loved. My New England roots have brought me to many Estate sales and auctions where I find the best items to share in my shop. I love vintage and always will. There’s nothing like the “good old days!”.

What is your favorite era and why?

I would say the late 60s and early 70s. Everything was so cool then to a kid coming of age during this transitional time.Flowers in your hair, Patchouli, loads of color, tie dye and “make love not war” were all a part of politics and fashion. Clothing varied widely and I loved that. Individuality was the name of the game. What fun!

What is your favorite item in your shop at the moment and why?

Right now it is a cobalt blue glass pitcher. I have a large collection of mini crackle glass pitchers that I absolutely love. To see them with the sun shining through them is as beautiful as a rainbow!
