Meet Our New Members March 2016 4

Running a bit behind as life got away from me in March. But here we are, so lets meet and get to know our newest team members for the month of March. We have 6 new members and each of them has a wonderful shop I know you will love. Let’s meet them.

First up is Ginger of Miss Magpie’s Shoppe

Ginger is a former team member who has found her way back to us. And we are so glad she did! What a wonderful shop! Ginger specializes in vintage home decor, kitchen and serving items.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

I became familiar with the Vesties Team when it received the ETSY TEAM SPIRIT AWARD in November of 2011.

What made you want to join?

Many of the shops had an “edge” about them: their photos and storefronts looked great, their sales were good, and I wanted to learn from these shops.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

I’ve had a shop on Etsy for over 5 years now. I still have things to learn from other shop owners, and I value their time and wisdom. And I would like to share what I have learned as well over a 5 year course. Constantly being open to learning new things is needed for business success.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I am just a mom and wife……but I could wish for no better job in this life. My family is “my heart.” I have always been a homemaker, and I homeschooled my sons through all their years of school. They are grown now, and my nest is empty, and Etsy is a lifeline for me. It brings joy and beauty into my life. I was diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease a few years back, and I have lost my hearing because of it. Living in a deaf world is challenging when you have always been hearing. So for me, Etsy really fits the bill! It is something I can do from my home, in my own time, and around family activities. So I am very blessed and so thankful that I have it to look forward to each day!

Next up is Gregory from The Little Shop Next Door

Gregory specializes in toys, jewelry, and art and has a Brick and Mortar shop as well as his Etsy shop.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

I Found you fine folks through my research into teams on Etsy.

What made you want to join?

I was looking to develop my brand/shop and thought that a team would be a great way to do that.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

Any way that I’m asked. I have over 30 years experience in buying /selling small items. I’m very fond of mens watches and toys from the turn of the century to the turn of the century.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I am a collector of watches and a jack of all trades when it comes to vintage smalls and collectables. I am a fount of trivial knowledge and a dedicated picker with a budget. Always on a budget. I have a great memory for items but peoples names, not so much. I love to teach and I’m not afraid to learn new things. And I hope to be a valued addition to the team.

Next we have C. Lydia of Fields of Vintage

C. Lydia has had a shop on Etsy since 2010 and carries all manner of fabulous items from flea market finds to objects of art and curiosities.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

I first learned about Vesties ( The Vintage Etsy Society Team) through your member Addie Harrison. I came across her shop Addievintage and noticed the lovely items she sells and saw she was a member. I contacted her and she suggested I join.

What made you want to join?

There were a few factors that made me want to join Vesties. I was looking to take my shop to the next level and I figured that I needed to connect with savvy team members that were successful in promoting and marketing their wares. My other reason for joining Vesties was for the informative resource forum posts as well as their current blog. I saw how they have a strong support for each other, and are actively sharing ideas to ensure sales.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

I am very active in promoting my shop via social media. And I have started posting onto the Vesties forum post just recently since becoming a member. It is my goal to learn more about the team and it’s members. I see myself participating on a weekly basis.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I have an intensive background in Fashion, I am a clothing patternmaker /dressmaker by trade, but I operate a small vintage shop on Etsy. I am a collector of objects. I enjoy selling vintage/antiques, because of the history and research that goes into each item i sell. I find it fascinating at times when i come across an item that has a story with the piece. I would also like to open a 2nd shop on Etsy offering alterations and custom made clothing for women. I still haven’t figure out all the details, but I am hoping to get some inspirations from my team members.

Now lets meet Renee from Nostalgic Artifacts

Renee has another shop that is also part of the team where she makes unique jewelry from vintage up-cycled tin, lucite and other objects.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

I started my Etsy journey with my repurposed jewelry shop Nostalgic Summer and joined the team with this shop.

What made you want to join?

I love this team and wanted my vintage shop Nostalgic Artifacts to become involved. After all the Vesties Team has the best vintage sellers on Etsy!

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

I feel that Nostalgic Artifacts will be a great fit for the team and I want to participate more on team discussions. I don’t have a blog of my own, but would be happy to contribute to the Vesties blog.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I fell in love with vintage at the age of ten when my best friend invited me to an Estate Sale with her mother. I was excited by this new adventure and fascinated with the “Estate Sale” process. I still have the piece I purchased that day…a sweet round Pyro Art box!
That must have ignited a fire in me because I have spent much of my life scouring garage sales, flea markets, auctions and estate sales for the perfect piece for my own home, for friends and now to sell.
My husband and I are empty nesters and love spending long summer weekends at our little vintage cabin in Ottertail County, MN with our two fur babies, Audrey and Lily.

Please also welcome Gillian from Pretty Happy Vintage

and Gabriele from Measure The Treasure to the team.

Please join me in welcoming all of our new members by stopping by their shops and saying hello when you see them on the team threads.

About Pam - VintageRenude

Some of my earliest memories are of digging through my Grandma's buttons, hankies, and jewelry. She taught me to see the beauty in everyday items made to last.
