Meet our new member June 2016 4

We took a break and didn’t add any new members in May this year but we did add some in June.  So lets meet our newest Vesties team members for June 2016isla_280x280.18370994_sf5rz14m

Lets meet Marilyn from Sophisticated Florida Vintage.

1) How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?
I’ve been aware of Vesties Team for some time but have recently begun to appreciate the foresightedness and vision of the team in reaching beyond Etsy collaboratively to provide a stronger presence for all our shops

2) What made you want to join?
The values of quality, purposeful action and engaged participation to me are the things most important to me in an etsy team. Vesties Team seems to have the right formula in all those areas.

3) How do you see yourself participating in the team?
I will be active on the threads regularly; some, like Give me Five, daily, and I’ve already jumped in on the blog posts. And when I feel I have something to contribute I’ll jump onto a thread. I feel very strongly about the importance of buying and using vintage, and am happy to participate in promoting the cause.

4) Tell us a bit about who you are.
I’m a relatively recent transplant to Florida; not retired but able to work from anywhere so why not be barefoot all year long? I’ve worked in a lot of different fields – journalism, clinical therapist, event promoter, shop owner – comes from living on Maryland’s rural eastern shore where we all wear 8 hats to make a minimum wage living. I started “collecting” at a very early age, at my grandfather’s feet, as we scoured beaches for shells, driftwood and stones. I’m quite sure I was a camel trader in a previous life; I like nothing better than to be plunked down in the middle of a field to hunt and haggle.
Married to a great guy with two wonderful adult kids who are pretty great. We visit daughter & son in law in Vermont in August (mostly so I can get my fix of folk art and primitives which are hard to come by here in FL). Mom to an 18 month old wire fox terrier so life is pretty active here.
I’m all over the map in what I sell and collect. Folk art is my true passion, but I love it all.

We also welcomed the following members:

Karen of Barn Cat Vintage Finds

Ann of The Old Junk Trunk

Please stop by and welcome our newest members.

About Pam - VintageRenude

Some of my earliest memories are of digging through my Grandma's buttons, hankies, and jewelry. She taught me to see the beauty in everyday items made to last.
