Monday means Match Game, a team challenge for Vesties to find a cool piece of vintage in their shop that matches the theme of the week
Here’s how it works:
- every other week a theme is posted on MONDAY
- you reply to the challenge post with ONE item from your shop (Etsy or your own site) and a few words about why you chose that item.
- at the end of the week, our own highly Selective Linda will create a collage with some of her favorite submissions.
It being Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer, the theme this week is Summer Ahead! What are your vintage summer essentials? What can’t you do without? What do you wear? Where do you go? What do you eat? What are you most looking forward to in the hottest of seasons?
This week’s challenge is to find a match in your shop that is a vintage summer essential. Post one item from your shop that is ready to rock summer and explain to our readers why you chose that particular piece of vintage.
Here’s some inspiration to get you started.

Summer means time in the garden, clothes on the clothesline, and outdoor entertaining. A garland of vintage aprons adds a fun touch to any outdoor gathering.

This is a wonderful photo, Mary. One of my favorite childhood memories is visiting my grandmother & helping her hang the laundry out to dry. She had a spinning clothesline which was quite cool when you're a 9 year old. ❤
I love this pattern, you can make a top, shorts, a skirt, skinny pants and a hoodie! I would whip this up in a variety of prints and solids to mix and match the whole summer. The hoodie and pants would be perfect for that clambake on the beach.
