Monday means Match Game, a team challenge for Vesties to find a cool piece of vintage in their shop that matches the theme of the week
Here’s how it works:
- every other week a theme is posted on MONDAY
- you reply to the challenge post with ONE item from your shop (Etsy or your own site) and a few words about why you chose that item.
- at the end of the week, our own highly Selective Linda will create a collage with some of her favorite submissions.
Three cheers for the red, white and blue! Happy Birthday USA! Let’s celebrate with your best piece of red, white and true American vintage. It could be something patriotic in color or something made with American pride. It can be a souvenir from an American landmark or a book that tells an American story. America is a place of history and tradition, and there’s no better way to celebrate that than with a piece of true Americana.
This week’s challenge is to find a match in your shop that helps celebrate America’s upcoming birthday. Post one item from your shop that shows your stars are in alignment and explain to our readers why you chose that particular piece of vintage.
Here’s some inspiration to get you started.
Oklahoma – The Heartland of America…famous for the passageway of cattle drives from Texas to Kansas and home of the Five Civilized Tribes. Oklahoma is steeped in American history and a few names steeped in Oklahoma history are Johnny Bench, Mickey Mantle, Will Rogers, Jim Thorpe, Sam Walton and Patti Page.

Show your patriotic spirit with a set of vintage American Flag lapel pins!
If you prefer, you could sprinkle the pins on a buffet table at your 4th of July picnic to add interest to the table. Give the pins to family and friends to proudly wear on their collar – just fold over the top tab to hold the pin in place.
