Nostalgic white Christmas from Better Homes and Gardens. |
For those who like to throw the creative gauntlet down, one of the best holiday decorating challenges is to take things that one would not normally associate with holiday decor and spin it into an original display. Starting with a base color like warm winter white unifies the vignettes you set up in the nooks and crannies of your home. For a nostalgic homespun feel, add accents in natural browns and greens. For a more vibrant feel, go mad with colors.
Look around and imagine the possibilities. A mannequin sprouts wings and becomes an angel. An apothecary jar is filled with a mix of vintage spools of white thread and tiny silver baubles. Rhinestone pins bring a wintery white elegance to a wreath. Silverplate in all it’s tarnished glory holds pine cones large and small. Candles float in vintage aluminum kitchen molds. A kitchen scale holds a milk glass bowl of elves. And the kitchen stool with it’s fold out steps sits next to the tree, covered in packages wrapped in white freezer paper.
The Vesties Team has everything you need to add vintage winter white charm to your holiday displays
