This week’s Get the Look post by Reese from Pop Fizz Vintage.
The cooler temps have finally started creeping into the forecast. Are you prepared? You might already have some of the must-have items. Here’s what’s popping up on top lists across the fashion world:
1. Emerald Green. Pantone named this rich shade its top color for 2013, so it will certainly be huge this season.
2. Thigh-high boots. “The higher, the better” is the motto of the year.
3. Lingerie-inspired clothing. Those negligees are no longer just for the bedroom.
4. Oversized coats. If you’re a fan of bulky sweaters, this trend is perfect. The roomy silhouette will make layering a breeze.
5. High slits. ‘Tis the season of the thigh, so it’s time to stock up on razors (or cool tights – see #12).
6. Plaid. Don’t stash your flannel from last fall, as grunge gets even better this season.
7. Turtlenecks. A trend that is both practical and adorable. You can skip the scarf as your neck will already be warm enough.
8. Velvet. The fall staple is back. Who didn’t see this coming?
9. Winter white. Yes, you can wear white after Labor Day. And it’s instant camoflauge on snow days.
10. Leather. This is one trend that never goes out of style, but this year try the luxe material in a deep colors.
11. Boot warmers. There is a reason why these are all over the internet. They aren’t just fashionable, they are functionable.
12. Patterned tights. And the funkier the better. Lip prints, polar bears, zig-zags. Just do it.
