1. A bit about me and my shop.
Born and raised in Detroit, our family now resides in Michigan’s “thumb”. The seed for vintage love was planted back in the 1960’s when my great-grandfather gave me a woven splint basket for my bicycle! Of course it wouldn’t fit on my bike, but my great-grandfather didn’t part with things easily, so it meant a lot to this 8 year old. I still have the basket. I’ve owned a brick and mortar vintage shop for almost 25 years and am in the process of selling my property and selling primarily on Etsy. I like primitives, worn, rusty, unusual objects.
2.I have to admit I don’t have a favorite era. I look around my house and I see bits and bobs of all generations. A Victorian blouse hanging on a primitive door. A mid century bedside lamp on a heavily carved side table. I have a special place in my heart for old books, buttons . Eclectic is my mantra!
3. My favorite item my shop right now is the canvas painting of a woman . She wears a pink gown and has a dream like blue background. But the best part is that the painter didn’t paint her head! You can see the faint pencil outline . A mystery for sure. why wasn’t it finished? It’s a great conversation starter and I just might miss her when she sells.
