So Christmastime is over, but winter will be with us yet for a few more months.  The Scandinavians have it right — they celebrate the gorgeous whites of winter by contrasting them with that beautiful bright red.  It’s impossible to get sick of winter when you are surrounded by such lovely, happy shades!

To bring home your Scandinavian winter look, think folk art.  Of course you’ll start with your red and white blankets, dishes, and pottery, but pair these with well-aged vintage snow gear and your decor will go from stark to warm and welcoming.

Vintage naturals, like antlers, pinecones, driftwood, and pine boughs work well here, as does distressed white-painted wood.  Don’t the skis and skates below just make you want to get out into the cold air and run around?  Then come home all tired and cold for hot chocolate? 🙂
