Shop of the Week -Ginasvintageshop 1

This week’s featured shop is Ginasvintageshop.
Meet Gina and take a peek at her at her shop

Please tell us a little about you and your shop.

I first began as a photo shop but found people weren’t interested in wall art, especially now that photos can be instantly downloaded and beautiful items can be created. So one day I was cleaning the basement, and I came across items from my childhood. I immediately fell in love with the history and the stories of each item. Since I didn’t need them anymore and I wanted someone else to carry on the stories that the items held- I closed my photo shop and opened a vintage shop. As time moved on, I reinvented my photo shop and I now own and operate both a vintage and a photo shop.

What is your favorite era and why?
I love history and I love stories. Because of this, I hold no love for one particular era. Each era holds its own mysteries, stories, and vision of what the future would be.

What is your favorite item in your shop at the moment?

Odd as it may seem, my favorite item is my handcrafted folk-art Santa. He was a mystery at first. I couldn’t find his story anywhere. Then one day, a guest contacted me and told me who created Santa and how he was created. I found out that the artist is still alive and still busy making and selling his wonderful art work. In this listing, I briefly talk about the story of the artist and how the Santa came to be.
