This week’s Shop of the Week, Circa810, is owned by Thom.
Please tell us a little about you and your shop.
I was born and raised in Iowa and after living in many different cities I ended up in Rockford, IL. My background before becoming a vintage seller was in aviation and aviation management. I started researching and selling vintage after the aviation industry took a downward turn and my position was done away with. I try to stock my shop with a variety of vintage objects ranging from very old antiques to kitschy items of the 1970’s.
What is your favorite era and why?
Mid Century would have to be at the top of my list of favorite eras. Partly because it reminds me of my childhood but also because it was an exciting and revolutionary period of history.
What is your favorite item in your shop at the moment and why?
My favorite item right now in my shop is an authentic 1951 Pan Am Airlines travel poster, something I have debated about letting go of. It is truly a piece of everything I love …. aviation, mid century design and advertising art.

Thom, your shop is always beautifully curated. I have bought several items and am always delighted!
Congrats on the well deserved feature Thom. Great insight into your path to opening a vintage shop. I have admired your shop for a long time. You have a designer eye, unique quality vintage and your photography is excellent. Your use of slate gray backgrounds & props is well done; perhaps one of the most visually pleasing curated vintage shops on Etsy IMO.
Very nice to get to know you better Thom. You're shop is fabulous, and always filled with interesting finds! Wishing you continued success!!!
Congratulations Thom! I love your store and enjoyed getting to know you better 🙂
