Spring is here and everything is blooming including the Vesties. We have several new members this month. Some have been vintage sellers for many years and others are newer to the biz. Please join me in welcoming our newest members to the team. We encourage all our members to participate in the team. So lets meet our new members this April.

First up is Tomáš Sýkora of An Antique Store

Tomas is based in Slovakia and we are thrilled to have him join the team. He brings a wealth of knowledge.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

I searched groups here on etsy and found this one aswell.

What made you want to join?

I simply wanted to be part of some community here.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

I can share information about middle europe antiques and help with identification , mainly because if I browse Etsy I can see here tons of untrue informations.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I am an antique seller from Slovakia, in central Europe. I am a serious collector of porcelain, glass, clocks and little bit less but still quite enough of folk items, militaria, paintings, silver and others. One has to know everything in order to be in this business.

I live with my wife in little village in our house with a few animals such as chickens, My wife is my most lovely thing in life…right after antiques. ( kidding )

About my shop, what to say. I was not quite sure what to add on internet sales, I thought I would start with my collection of alarm clocks but it takes so much time that I am adding them quite slowly. No more alarm clocks tho, those are all I have, so if anyone likes antiques feel free to follow me and check for new items, I will be adding items from 30-50 dollars up to works of masters such as Hoffmann, Powolny or even Faberge.

Next, lets meet Shawn and Nayda of Once Upon a Time Vintage 2

Shawn also has a Sports Memorabilia shop on Etsy called SportsPage

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

Great to be part of the team. The Vesties were suggested by Etsy.

What made you want to join?

The quality and range of the team’s vintage items and shops was what drew us to you.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

We’re looking to build our visibility and sales and would like to help others do the same.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

Essentially, we are collectors who have become hobbyiests and are considering expanding our vintage endeavors.

Up next is Theresa of Thrifty Theresa

isla_280x280.15865641_g3orz7ua

Theresa started on Etsy selling handmade items and made the transition to vintage. She has two other shops on Etsy as well Prayers4Theresa and ScrappyTheresa

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

I found the team searching Etsy Teams.

What made you want to join?

I liked that the team is more about helping one another instead of just playing promo games. It would be nice to see each other as co-workers rather than competition.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

I enjoy making treasuries and promoting fellow sellers on platforms such as Pinterest and Facebook. I love to see what others sell and learn about the history of antiques and collectibles.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I used to sell handmade items on Etsy from 2007-2010. I took a hiatus from that for a few years and started a Vintage shop just before Thanksgiving 2014. My father used to own an antique store and my childhood was filled with thrift stores, garage sales, antique malls, and flea markets.

Now lets meet Patty from Shout Vintage

isla_280x280.18718428_s48k3i8y

Patty is a vintage clothing seller with great style.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

First, thank you so much for welcoming me into this awesome team. I’ve had my eye on the Vesties since I first opened my Etsy shop about 5 years ago, but haven’t been able to make it anything more than a hobby until this year. Once I’d finally set up enough inventory to meet the minimum requirements to join the team, I was so happy to be accepted.

What made you want to join?

The VES is the most active, organized, and devoted vintage team I’ve come across on Etsy. The love & passion for true vintage is evident and that’s what drew me to it. I get so much joy out of finding vintage treasures, imagining their life & history, and learning about each piece I’m sharing on Etsy, so I’m stoked to find others who feel the same way.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

I’m certainly looking forward to learning from the vets, but hoping that I have something offer as well. I’m new to the group, but am already feeling the good vibes of being involved in this vintage-loving community.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

This is the scary part that feels a bit like an online dating profile. I’m 33, a jersey girl in LA for 12 years, and I like long walks on the beach? No, wait, that’s not right. I’ve worked in fashion/customer service/marketing for most of my adult life, and recently decided to start sharing my vintage clothing finds on Etsy full time. When I remember to take a step back & relax, I’m usually playing the banjo, out seeing a band, or at home, dying my hair while I work on a craft project. Ok, maybe at a thrift store, too…

Thanks, again, for the warm welcome & for including me in your feature.

Now lets meet Amanda from Elle Belle Vin

isla_280x280.20665953_6amh5vya

Amanda brings a new twist to vintage clothing, the cutest baby clothes.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

I found you via Instagram, and since I was looking for a vintage team to become a part of, I was so glad to encounter the Vesties instagram account.

What made you want to join?

I was looking for a community that were as interested in vintage as I am.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

As a part of the the community I would like to participate in discussions, find and offer support and encouragement with my fellow members.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I have a master in Language Psycology and work full time at Copenhagen University with copyrights. But when we had our daughter Ellen in 2014 I started buying vintage clothes for her on Etsy, I found an interest in kids vintage clothes and that led to my shop ElleBelleVin where I sell mostly Scandinavian Retro and Vintage Clothes for babies, toddlers and kids. My shop is still only a hobby.
I like to combine vintage and modern clothes both for my self and for my little girl -instagram is great for marketing and showing outfit suggestions, and I feel like my customers reward me via Instagram as well by showing there little ones in my items.

Lets find out a bit about Vanessa of Excuse My French Shop

isla_280x280.18291365_czs7t7d7

Vanessa is new to Etsy and the team this year.

How were you introduced to the Vesties Team?

I was actively looking for a large vintage/antiques team on Etsy, so tried entering some key words and read through some discussions to see if it was a lively team with active members.

What made you want to join?

Many reasons. Being part of a team makes one more motivated to achieve things. I’m fairly new on Etsy so need to hear from experienced members. And also, it is the opportunity to learn from vintage sellers from all over the world.

How do you see yourself participating in the team?

I log in to Etsy’s forums/teams several times a day to see what’s new and participate. I’m happy to help whenever I feel I have something valuable to offer.

Tell us a bit about who you are.

I’m a bi-national French-Belgian, mother of a 7 year old girl who is as passionate about vintage items and flea markets as I am 🙂 I’m based in Southern France.

Our other new members this month are:

Mary who’s shop Of Small Things is her third Etsy shop. Her other shops are An Unexpected Journey and The Vintage Orange Jar

Last is Gatormom13 who has been on Etsy since 2010

Hope you have enjoyed meeting our new members this month. Stop by their shops and say hello when you see them on the team threads.

About Pam - VintageRenude

Some of my earliest memories are of digging through my Grandma's buttons, hankies, and jewelry. She taught me to see the beauty in everyday items made to last.
