Match Game: Checkered Past 11

Monday means Match Game, a team challenge for Vesties to find a cool piece of vintage in their shop that matches the theme of the week

Here’s how it works:

  • every other week a theme is posted on MONDAY
  • you reply to the challenge post with ONE item from your shop (Etsy or your own site) and a few words about why you chose that item.
  • at the end of the week, our own highly Selective Linda will create a collage with some of her favorite submissions.

The theme this week is checks, as in a pattern of squares. The checks might be small like a dainty gingham or bold like a buffalo plaid. The checks might be a band on a mug, the background of an emblem, the fabric of the flag at the finish line. It might be embossed on the on the border of a tray or printed around the outside of an art tile. Those pesky checks are everywhere once you start looking for them.

This week’s challenge is to find a match in your shop that has checks. Post one item from your shop that showcases that every popular pattern of squares and explain to our readers why you chose that particular piece of vintage.
