Shop of the Week – LuRuUniques 2

Please tell us a little about you and your shop.

I am a little old lady (67), under 5 ft tall, who lives alone with a huge 98 pound Golden Retriever.  My hubby passed away about 3 1/2 years ago. Our youngest daughter lives 2 blocks from me with her family of 3 young boys. Fun times watching them grow. I am still working about 30 hours a week at Burger King in a small rural town. I love visiting with the customers, so don’t think I will quit anytime soon. I love the hunt for treasures to put in my shop. I also look for vintage tins to paint on for the craft shows where I sell them.


What is your favorite era and why?

My favorite era is the 50s. Life was simpler then, it seems to me. It could have been that I was a child of the 50s!! The bright yellows and reds of the 50s are still my favorite colors.


What is your favorite item in your shop at the moment?

I have so many favorites items in my shop, it is hard to choose. But since my favorite childhood memory is playing “house” with my sister,  I am selecting this doll buggy.
